Statement from Parent Progression Team – Update 5 Jan 2021

Response to National Lockdown 3 Regulations

In response to official government guidance given on 4th January 2021 to stay at home where possible and to limit non-essential travel and social contact, the parent progression team will continue to offer services virtually until further notice.

Any face to face meetings have been cancelled as a precautionary measure, unless they are deemed to be essential to provide the service on offer. If face to face meetings take place they will be kept to an absolute minimum and observe current regulations to keep both staff and parents safe. This will be reviewed as the situation develops and we will keep you informed of any changes.

We are, however, keen to maintain regular contact by phone, text, email or video chat with both parents and volunteers to offer support and help to combat feelings of isolation.  If you are working with the Parent Progression Team we will be contacting you shortly – if we haven’t done so already – to discuss how we will continue to provide support during this 3rd lockdown and any concerns you might have. Please also feel free to contact your advisor by phone, text or email and they will get back to you as soon as they are able.

The services offered at this time by the Parent Progression Team (subject to capacity) include:

  • Phone calls, text message, email or video chat according to preference to all parents we are supporting
  • Initial consultations by phone or video chat for new parents to the project
  • Referral to other agencies by phone etc. for any parents who need that support
  • Where appropriate, we can offer coaching by phone or video chat
  • Information on our website/blog and social media channels

We are still welcoming and receiving referrals in the usual manner, however all parent contact will be conducted as detailed above for the time being.
